Vibe D. Z. "Traveling to Asteroids" 03/19/2020 "Scientist's Tribune"
Despite the temporary suspension of operations, the Moscow Planetarium invites you to take an online journey to asteroids on March 19 at 7:00 PM. The lecture in the "Scientist's Tribune" series will be held online for the first time and will be broadcast live on our social media. Everyone is welcome to ask the lecturer questions in the comments.
The lecture, "Journeys to Asteroids," will be given by Dmitry Zigfridovich Vibe, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Head of the Department of Stellar Physics and Evolution at the Institute of Astronomy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and member of the Moscow Planetarium's Scientific Council.
Asteroids are interesting for many reasons: as a source of information about the past and present of the Solar System, as potential sites for establishing colonies, and as a source of resources. The lecture will discuss the missions to asteroids that have already taken place and how they have enriched our knowledge of the cosmos.
