Short Transcript:
Today we're talking about email marketing for your beats or any project for that matter. It's so easy to start, you're going to wonder why you haven't thought about it before. Let me show you what I'm talking about. The first thing you're going to do is open up Chrome. If you don't have Chrome, download it, and then simply Google Chrome Web Store.
Click on the link inside the search box, you're just going to type in email, extract, or extractor.
Now there are a ton of these and what these essentially do is take emails off of webpages that you visit. The first one that shows up is email extractor. It's the go-to for most people doing email marketing, but a lot of their free features are now paid features. So I've switched. So what you're going to want to do is click on more extensions up here, scroll down to this one here, this email extractor, and you'll see it's actually already added. After you click on there. This link here will say Add to Chrome. Mine's already added. So for me, it says Remove from Chrome and what happens is you'll have a new Chrome extension added to your browser. That's this one here.
The next thing you're going to do is go right over to Twitter. If you don't have a Twitter account, sign up inside the search bar.
Just search send beats this is going to search for anyone who was tweeted out send beats. Look, even here LLOYD BANKS is looking for beats right now. If you need as I'm scrolling the email extractor is making a list of all the emails that are associated with tweets that say send beats. So getting ready to hit the studio. Someone send beats to this email. Now this email is going to be on this list.
Do you want to scroll you want to scroll kind of slowly so that the page actually loads and they extract or pick up the email. Let's see if we can get 100 emails real quick.
So that's a good amount I got 100 here. So what I'm going to do, as I hover over this, it's going to tell me that I need to click to copy all the collected email so I'm just gonna click on this. Now it's in my clipboard when this turns red. Next, you want to open whatever Excel-type program you have to make a list.
I want to maximize going to use numbers. Open up a new file, it can be blank. Click in this first box, and you're gonna Command V or you can right-click and paste and now these are all the emails that we collected from that extractor extension. The next step is important because you want to save this file as a CSV file. It's essentially a contact file like you could take that file and upload it to your iCloud, and put it in your Gmail, just like how you import contacts into programs.
So I'm going to export this as a CSV file.
That's fine.
And we'll just make it test email.
So now I have this CSV file that I can import into whatever email program you use, whether it's just in Gmail, or MailChimp. MailChimp is pretty cool because it gives you up to 2000 contacts that you can import for free
