A demonstration of the Tyer Number Six train control system. For use on a single track railway in which trains can travel in both directions.. Two interlocked instruments are used. The first dispenses a token and this is handed to the train driver in a satchel. It is a permit for the driver to proceed from one point to the next on the line. On arrival at the second point, the token is returned, removed from the satchel and inserted into the second instrument. The line is then free to be used by further traffic. The communications between the instruments, and the issuing, transport and return of the token is demonstrated along with how the displays and controls are used in sequence.
