Welcome! In this chapter, we'll see how to manipulate the digital input and output pins of the ESP-32 microcontroller. We'll also learn how to use the internal pull-up and pull-down resistors to simplify peripheral connections, using digital configuration structures. All of this will be developed using Visual Studio Code as the code editor and PlatformIO as the core.
In this chapter, we'll also develop a digital counter using a 7-segment display from scratch using the ESP32 IDF. This will allow us to learn how to compile, upload, and visualize the response of our microcontroller.
