In this video Senior Lab Technician Carrie Skagerberg walks us through the process of performing a leakdown leak test with a Dansensor® LeakPointer® H2O. To perform this test, you will need a fully functioning and calibrated LeakPointer® H2O that is filled with clean and clear water and your package that is ready to be tested. Please be sure to fill water to the proper levels.

The Dansensor® LeakPointer® H2O is a bench-top instrument that helps you pinpoint even the smallest leaks. This instrument conducts visual leaks tests through supporting bubble testing. With the LeakPointer® H2O, can test virtually every type of flexible, semi-rigid and ridged packages regardless of headspace gas type (such as modified atmosphere (MAP) applications) or lack thereof (in vacuum-sealed packages). Designed for use in the food industry, these highly accurate instruments detect the tiniest leaks to ensure package integrity during transport from your facility to the consumer.

The simple steps for performing this type of benchtop test are as follows:
Step 1: Place into prepared LeakPointer® H2O and close lid: 0:00
Step 2: Close lid and push start button. Adjust vacuum pressure as needed: 0:07
Step 3: Once vacuum pressure is built, begin to visually inspect your package for bubbles: 0:20
With a clear tank, visual inspections are visible 360 degrees around the package: 0:27
Step 4: Once product leak is found or bubbles subside, the test is complete. Wait until LeakPointer® H2O is depressurized to remove package.
