Raccoon Removal in Attic with Pole Snare
Peter Riney, the franchise owner in Columbia, MO, had an unorthodox raccoon removal.
We got a call right when we open at 7:30; this raccoon had kept the homeowner up all night long. The raccoon made a hole in the upper portion of the drywall and started to claw through it! She stayed up all night trying to keep the raccoon from entering her living room.
Usually, the most effective way to remove a raccoon from an attic is to set traps and check them often. Once the raccoon has been trapped, we can safely remove it from the attic. Peter saw the raccoon and decided to try to catch it and then remove the young.
Peter wanted to solve this problem in one visit. There was nowhere for the animal to hide in her attic, and the raccoon didn't try to exit. This was very unusual. Definitely not how things normally go, but everything just fell into place in this particular situation so we could rectify this situation right then and there.
The mother was placed into a cage once it was trapped, and Pete was able to find the raccoon den to remove the juveniles. No raccoons were harmed.
