Disclaimer: Qi Xiao, an archaeologist, assembled a treasure-hunting team to find the vast wealth left behind from the Taiping Rebellion.
The Taiping Rebellion was a political organization established by a peasant uprising that once occupied the wealthy Liangjiang region. Their warehouses were piled high with gold and jewels, a sight to behold.
Since the regime's collapse, the search for this wealth has continued for centuries. Rumor has it that this riches are most likely hidden in a cave deep within the primeval forests of southwestern China.
Knowing the journey would be fraught with danger, Qi Xiao selected the most renowned archaeologists and experienced tomb raiders from across the country, forming a formidable treasure-hunting team.
When they arrived at the legendary treasure location, they were met with the marks of a fierce battle in the forest: giant brown bears, savages, and pythons had fought there, leaving behind enormous snake scales—a chilling sight.
Qi Xiao led his team into a cave, and upon seeing the floor covered in gold and silver, the group immediately began packing up the treasure. However, several giant pythons and brown bears suddenly appeared and attacked them.
After a fierce battle, only Qi Xiao and an archaeologist managed to escape the cave, but the giant pythons were still in hot pursuit. Dark clouds gathered, and a torrential downpour began.
Lightning flashed across the Tianshan Mountains, thunder rumbled, and it seemed as if the valley would split open. Just as the giant pythons opened their blood-red jaws, attempting to devour them, a blinding flash of lightning struck Qi Xiao directly, knocking him unconscious.
When Qi Xiao awoke, he was unharmed except for his singed hair. Looking around, he found himself in a large stable/woodshed.
To his shock, a strange memory had appeared in his mind: in this memory, he was a stable boy named "Afu," a servant bound to the Qin family by a death contract. Once separated from his master, he would be a runaway slave, unable to move an inch.
Qi Xiao pondered for a moment and calculated that the current time was the second year of the Jingkang era in the Northern Song Dynasty, and the location was Jiangning Prefecture. Historically, this area was the heartland of the later Southern Song Dynasty, but now the situation was turbulent and fraught with danger.
He realized he had transmigrated. Suddenly, a crisp system notification sounded in his ear: "Ding—[Daily Sign-in System] has awakened."
The system then notified him: Today's sign-in reward—one heavily armored cavalryman (no need for supplies, only consumed), automatically replenished in 24 hours. Qi Xiao immediately realized that an army "without supplies" was invincible.
Qi Xiao understood that if he could obtain such iron cavalry through daily sign-ins, in just ten days, he could build a powerful force within Jiangning County capable of changing the local situation!
Relying on his familiarity with history and "Afu's" memories, Qi Xiao quietly slipped away to a hidden corner behind the stables. With a thought, a heavily armored knight, over three meters tall and clad in black armor, appeared before him, bowing and whispering, "Greetings, my lord."
Before he could get a better look, the sound of hurried footsteps approached, followed by a reprimand from Qin Wuyang, the young master of the Qin family: "Afu! What are you doing sneaking around in the middle of the night!" He reacted quickly, pretending to have just finished urinating and was tidying his clothes.
Qin Wuyang approached, lantern in hand, and asked, "What's going on?" Qi Xiao squinted, lifting a basket of bean feed at his feet, and said, "When I got up in the middle of the night, I heard this snow-white horse pawing at its hooves, so I thought I'd quickly add some fine feed." Qin Wuyang then said, "You'll stay here tonight."
