This video shows the teardown and some tests performed on a modern VSI/TCAS IVA-81D indicator manufactured in 2001.

There are various possibilities for the VSI input:
two ARINC 429 digital inputs
one ARINC 475 input (DC signal). Two other terminals are used for the voltage reference inputs (+/- 12V)
one ARIND 465 input (AC voltage). One other terminal is used for the reference signal
one pneumatic input
One ARINC 429 output is available for the connection to another VSI indicator
