Persisting Authentication State - WPF + FIREBASE AUTHENTICATION #7
Learn how to persist Firebase Authentication state in a WPF application. Persisting authentication state allows users to stay logged in between sessions, such as when closing and re-opening the application.
In this video, we leverage built-in WPF settings files to persist Firebase Authentication state. When the user's authentication state changes, we save the authentication state to the settings file. Then when the user re-opens the application, we load the authentication state from the settings file, attempt to fresh the user's authentication, and act appropriately based on the user's authentication state.
Rolling your own authentication system is quite painful despite being beneficial in certain scenarios. Luckily, there are many third-party authentication providers that simplify authentication. That said, in this series, we will integrate a WPF application with Firebase Authentication to easily setup authentication and demonstrate the power of Firebase Authentication. Firebase Authentication is one of my favorite third-party authentication providers, as it is free, feature rich, and easy to integrate with.
