This tutorial covers how to create a ripped paper effect from scratch in Photoshop. This is a really neat effect if you want to add dimension or add effects similar to an ad I made for a client.
The ripped paper effect is great to use to add depth and realistic edges for different types of images.
To Create Simple Paper:
1. New White Layer
2. Filter ► Noise ►Add Noise
3. Filter ► Blur ► Gaussian Blur
Brush Settings:
1. Lower than 20px Spatter Brush
2. Window ► Brush ► Shape Dynamics
3. Change Size & Angle Jitter
Tips:
1. Use Smudge tool for increased effect
2. Add Drop Shadow for depth
