In which I compare Sample Modeling Brass instruments to the relatively new Cinematic Studio Brass Library, using both wet and dry examples.
The piece is a brass arrangement of "Remembrance" by D.I.D. CHOI, winner of the Canadian Band Association's 2019 Howard Cable Memorial Prize in Composition.

With the SM Brass, I used a Todd AO impulse response in Space Designer along with Valhalla Room. For the CSB, I used the same Valhalla Room reverb, without Space Designer. I did not use stage positioning (mainly cause I forgot about it), but that gives you a more accurate idea of what these libraries are like in a more raw form.
Though I have a TEC BBC2, I prefer to use modwheel for dynamics with Sample Modelling at the moment.
