Bella reflects back on her experience of Carlisle turning her into a vampire so that they can be together for eternity.
Bella POV:
"He refused to do this from the beginning, believed it didn't have to be this way. I knew what I was giving up; my family, having children, graduating from high school, breathing... It was the heaviest decision I've ever had to make and I can't stop thinking, 'Was Carlisle right when he told me I shouldn't be like him? Was I wrong for wanting so badly to be one of them? Was he weak for giving in and changing me? Or was I strong for enduring the excruciating pain of the transformation and willingly giving up everything I knew and losing everyone I care about?' No. I believe that we were both equally torn here. Both of us broken and so desperate to stay together for eternity that we became caught up in the irresistable pull between us and gave in to an irrational solution. I don't regret it, becoming like him. I'm no longer left wanting to live in his world anymore... because it's my world too."
