A day in the life of a systems engineer
Julie Byrd is a senior systems engineer in our Government Systems business in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Her most recent assignment is on the Tactical Combat Training System Increment II (TCTS Inc. II) program. She and her fellow engineers are tasked with developing the next-generation training program for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps — an encrypted air combat training system that uses GPS to provide continuous, live tracking of air training exercises.
Byrd’s job is to review and understand the requirements from the U.S. Navy for the program’s screen display and work with the software engineers to figure out how to meet those requirements.
