Norwegian winter is when nature falls asleep, the mountains put on fluffy snow caps, and the stormy rivers freeze from above, but continue their way under the ice.
There are few tourists in winter, and this is logical, because a stable sub-zero temperature is set in the mountains, and roads are closed for the winter due to snowstorms and avalanches. In winter, you can’t get through the highlands without a team of dogs or special equipment.
The temperature in Norway in winter can vary greatly, in coastal areas it is rarely below -11, and more often the temperature stays around zero. But in the mountains, the thermometer drops to -27 and this is not the limit.
