In this video, I’ll show you how to track Contact Form 7 submissions using Google Tag Manager, GA4, and a custom dataLayer event.

A lot of people use GTM’s default form submission trigger, but it is not always reliable because it can fire before the form is actually submitted successfully.

In this tutorial, I’ll show a better method where we listen to the Contact Form 7 submission status and send the event to GA4 only when the form is successfully submitted.

What you’ll learn:

• How to track Contact Form 7 submissions
• How to create a custom dataLayer event
• How to pass form parameters like form_id, form_name, form_status, and page_path
• How to create a Custom Event trigger in GTM
• How to send the event to GA4
• How to test everything in GTM Preview and GA4 DebugView

This tutorial is useful for anyone working with technical marketing, conversion tracking, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, and lead tracking.
