Why Do I Always Use Dropdown Slicers in Power BI? You Can Also Do It!
I can guarantee that almost every single Power BI report contains at least one slicer - most of them contain multiple.
Is there any difference in the different slicer types? Does any of them faster than the others?
The answer is YES! Dropdown slicers do not need to load data when they show up on the screen, meaning that they can help in creating a more performant Power BI report.
It may sound like a small gain when it comes to report optimization, but shaving off a few seconds just by changing the type is a huge success!
And if you want to take it to the next level, you can create a slicer panel, where the slicer wouldn't even load until user interaction!
