When you are starting out, I firmly believe you need something that will allow you to manually adjust as much as possible (consider even grabbing a vintage manual focus & aperture lens) — this camera, the canon T3i (or t2i, t4i, t5i) — really just the T series, is perfect. Won’t break the bank, but such a solid camera.
