Power plant turbines generate more than energy. In the process, they also generate exhaust and very high temperatures - too high for the normal system operating range. To bring down the temperature of the exhaust, Tempering Air Fans pull in cooler air from the outside to blend with the exhaust air as it moves through the system. The application we want to look at here is tempering air fans. Typically, tempering air fans are used in the power industry. What we’re trying to accomplish is, we’re trying to cool the turbine exhaust. So, in a power plant, turbines are generating a lot of exhaust, and it’s kind of contaminated, but it’s very high-temperature too. So we bring the fresh air in through a filter box, through a silencer, we’re regulating that flow with the inlet vent damper here, and also we can balance it with the outlet damper here. So by regulating that flow coming in, we’re able to maintain cooling for the turbine exhaust.
