By now, you’ve all heard about the assassination of Salwan Momika, the world’s most infamous Qur’an burner. Both Islamists and non-Muslims seem to agree that Islamists were behind it. We know many Muslims justify violence against blasphemers—but is there more to the story?
Momika wasn’t just an asylum seeker in Sweden. He had fought against ISIS as part of the PMF, a militia accused of human rights abuses. Iraq wanted him extradited, claiming his links to militias like the Falcons of Syriac Forces. Facing deportation, he made a bold move—burning Qur’ans to spark global outrage and shield himself from being sent back to Iraq.
Now he’s dead. Was it Iraqi intelligence? Radical jihadists? Sweden initially hinted at foreign involvement, yet all suspects were released. One thing is certain—his death has only inspired more blasphemers. If Islamists killed him, it’s a losing battle for them. But if foreign elements were involved, it’s a wake-up call for the West to stop being weak.
Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Who do you think did it?
