Among the continents, North America ranks third in area, behind only Eurasia and Africa. Its area is 20.4 million km² (excluding islands), and 24.25 million km² (including them). The continent is located entirely in the Northern Hemisphere, as well as entirely in the Western Hemisphere, and straddles all the climatic zones of the Northern Hemisphere, excluding the equatorial zone. This explains the contrasting climates from north to south. Very interesting facts :)
