The Community Contributions features will be discontinued from YouTube soon, including the captions creator/editor, in 28 September 2020. This infuriating and horrible decision upset many users (what a surprise), including me.
I've used YouTube's built-in caption creator for more than 40 videos, and I find it more intuitive, easy to use, and enables faster workflows for quality captions, compared to many alternatives.
In case any of you mention Amara.org: Yes, it is intuitive, but I find it nowhere as powerful and fast as Youtube's offering. At the time of writing, I still stick to the latter.
I'm not sure if this video/livestream will serve as a memorial or tutorial, but why not both? I could find little to no resources about this tool anyways, so maybe I'm the first person to do this?
