When Google added Linux Development Environment (LDE) to ChromeOS it opened the door to installing a huge catalog of Linux open source software to its platform. So in this video we take a look at how you enable LDE on a Google Chromebook and take a tour of the LDE menu.

Notes: Linux Development Environment is really just a Virtual Machine of Linux within ChromeOS. So by default Linux will be isolated from ChromeOS and any data you have stored on it.

If you are using a school or work Chromebook you might not be able to use Linux. So please contact your system administrator or tech support before trying.
