Is your Windows 11 PC constantly running low on space? Storage Sense should help automatically, but many people turn it on once and never configure it properly. That means Windows may not clean temporary junk as often as you expect.

In this guide, I’ll show you how to set up Storage Sense correctly, choose automatic cleanup timing, clean temporary files safely, configure Recycle Bin cleanup, and run Storage Sense manually to confirm it actually works.

✅ Step 1: Open Settings → System → Storage
✅ Step 2: Turn on Storage Sense
✅ Step 3: Open Storage Sense settings
✅ Step 4: Choose how often Storage Sense runs
✅ Step 5: Configure Recycle Bin cleanup timing
✅ Step 6: Review Temporary Files cleanup
✅ Step 7: Use “Run Storage Sense now” to test it
✅ Step 8: Be careful with Downloads folder cleanup
✅ Step 9: Check large apps, games, videos, and cloud folders if space is still low

⚠️ Tip: Storage Sense is a safe cleanup tool, but it is not magic. It mainly targets temporary files, Recycle Bin items, and optional cleanup categories — it will not fix a full drive caused by huge games, videos, or personal folders.
