Just a simple set of tests to show what speed you can expect to get from a TP-Link Omada EAP723 Wireless 7 access point.
There are always challenges when it comes to testing wireless performance. We always like to use a repeatable set of tests that have worked for us over the years. A 2.5Gb/s ethernet connection to the device (max it can support) and an iPhone 15/16 for testing. Then we test at distances of 1m, 5m, 10m and 15m through various numbers of concrete walls.
Once we have completed the standard out of the box test, we then optimise the wireless. We increase the power to full along with the channel width to 160Mhz. This will often give us faster speeds the closer we are to the access point, but will also reduce the distance we can be from it.
