Community São Francisco da Mangueira, located on the banks of the Solimões River in the heart of the Amazon. This community has fishing as its main livelihood activity, they do a beautiful job with the management of pirarucu and tambaqui. This harvest is legal and takes place between the months of August and September. The riverside community does not have a large fishing boat, as the harvest has a determined period to happen.
Since there is no boat to transport the fish, the riverside people ask for the opportunity to take their production to larger cities such as Manaus and Juruá, thus significantly reducing the value of the fish and consequently the livelihood of the community.
An alternative used is to outsource the transport of fish, where they often lose precious time and end up not reaching the quota released for the community to fish.
