This problems details that the patient weighs 48 lbs and is ordered 850 mg PO (by mouth) q8hr (every 8 hours). The safe dose range for this patient is 100-300 mg/kg/day. You need to determine if this is a safe dose for the patient.

To solve this problem you can use the formula: kg x min./max. dose = dosage
