A simple router dado jig... so I thought!
The jig works great if I were using it for 3/4 dados. But I did not account for the fact that this small router has a 3.5" base so you cannot use the jig to cut anything over 2.5 inches in width or the router will not rest flat against the jig and makes nasty gouges in your work. If I need smaller dados I can use this router and I really like it. If I need large dados for half-lap joints or something I will have to invest in fixing my corded sears router or getting a new full-size router. Or modify this one like one of the posts in the reviews. They cut a 6x6 piece of acrylic and replaced the factory base with that.
My gear:
I use the Audio Technica AT2020 XLR because I wanted to be able to record music occasionally. If you do not need that then you could just go straight for the USB version and wouldn’t need the phantom power or extra cables. The external recorder is a must when using a cell phone and will help with audio sync when editing.
