Synthesis of a-Nitronaphthalene
1-nitronaphthalene, also known as α-nitronaphthalene, is a light yellow, orange crystal without a smell, with a melting point of 51-52 degrees. Nitronaphthalene is used in organic synthesis for the synthesis of many dyes, naphthylamine (smells like shit), is used as an additive to oils and in my case it will be used to obtain pure 3-Nitrophthalic acid.
