Myasthenia gravis in dog
This is Ella our 12 yo lab. This shows her after regurgitation when she is trying to clear her airway and in discomfort. This is a less serious episode than earlier events. It lasts on and off for up to 12 hours and then nothing for a week although she is less energetic than usual. Medication began 2 weeks ago at the lower doseage levels.
Update August 2015. Great news. Blood tests show body has recovered and chest x-ray shows normal oesophagus. Mestanin has allowed time for body to recover naturally plus small ( 4x daily feeds of bland soft canned food served by hand in small bite size pieces with her sitting upright. Then remain in sit for at least 5 minutes.) Good luck if you are suffering but there is hope.
