Construct3: Locking and Unlocking Levels, Easy Game Mechanics 7. In this episode I will show you how to create a simple lock and unlock level mechanic using a variable and button.
Add an object to collide with which will trigger the lock/unlock mechanic. Create a button and give it a single boolean variable, name the variable lock and set it to true.
Add some text and set the default text blank.
In the event sheet, add an event that triggers once the player collides with the object, add an action to set the boolean false on contact.
Add the mouse input and create an event which triggers on object clicked (select the button). Add 2 sub events, one if the button is locked and another if unlocked. If unlocked add the action - go to layout 2. If locked, set text to "locked".
