Transported a car door on a bus at triple the rate.
I bought a trunk lid for my car. It's big, bulky, and inconvenient, but I have to get around somehow. Taxis are expensive, and calling a truck just for two stops seems strange, so I decided to take a regular city bus. I arrive at the stop, wait for my route, and a small PAZik bus pulls up. I carefully step inside, door included, trying not to bump into anyone, but the passengers are already looking at me as if I've carried half the car inside.
The conductor immediately reacts: "Get out with the door!" I explain that it's only two stops, I'll stand carefully, and won't disturb anyone. But she confidently replies: "We won't carry oversized items." Then the driver suddenly intervenes. He looks around the bus, sees that there aren't many people, and says, "Let him go at triple the fare." I think, well, that's it, the matter is settled. I thank the driver, hand him 200 rubles, and say, "No change."
But just then the bus doors try to close, and my car's trunk lid crashes out of the bus and onto the asphalt. I just wanted to take the part home, but what I got was a scene I couldn't have contrived.
