DPS provides update after 7-vehicle crash on Loop 101 and Chaparral Rd
Officials with DPS say it started when troopers attempted a traffic stop but the driver refused and continued driving. A pursuit ensued for about two miles with the person driving recklessly. At that point, DPS says its trooper attempted a pit maneuver on the suspected vehicle. The action caused the vehicle to spin around and come to a stop. The driver then continued traveling on Loop 101 in the wrong direction, headed southbound in the northbound lanes. After traveling two more miles, DPS says the suspected vehicle collided with six other vehicles.
