Checkers Opening: A Classic Mistake (Part 3)
The opening in Russian checkers is called the "Kosyak" (Shoal). It's one of the most extensive!
The opening tabia arises after the moves 1. cb4 fg5. 2. gf4 gf6. 3. bc3 bc5, with move transpositions.
Then it's possible to transition to the "Classical" shoal after the moves 4.ba5 gh4. Play proceeds along the shoal formed by the diagonals d8-h4-e1-a5.
