Neutron stars are one of the most exotic and mysterious objects in the Universe. Magnetars are neutron stars with enormous magnetic fields, the most powerful in the Universe, trillions of billions stronger than Earth's. Pulsars are neutron stars with extremely high rotational speeds. The state of matter inside a neutron star is unknown; the high pressure could break atomic nuclei into their elementary particles, quarks.
