In this video, together with the Héroes de Cavite cultural association, we discuss the possibility and consequences of the UNION of the Hispanic countries.
Juan José Marcilla de Teruel-Moctezuma y Valcárcel, 6th Duke of Moctezuma and firstborn of his lineage, will read a Manifesto calling for the brotherhood of all the peoples of the Hispanic world. A gesture laden with symbolism that seeks to overcome disagreements about the past and focus on conquering the future.
Our community, made up of more than 580 million people, has the opportunity to consolidate itself as a global power, not only in economic terms but also culturally. The participating personalities, from diverse backgrounds, from academia and business to the arts, are a reflection of the vast talent and creativity emanating from the Hispanic world.
Our legacy is rich, complex, and diverse. We are the result of the union of indigenous roots with the Spanish Western heritage, and interspersed with other cultures; all sustained by a Christian worldview that has shaped our identity. This cultural richness places us in a unique position to face the challenges of the present and future.
This Manifesto also underscores the economic and cultural potential of Spanish-speaking countries. United, we can form one of the most important blocs of the 21st century. With a combined GDP exceeding $5 trillion and essential natural resources for the global energy future, our community has human and material capital of incalculable value.
It is time to unite like never before, to build together a more prosperous and just future. Unity is strength... and the time to act is now.
