On todays show I discuss Twitch music licensing deal and the possible fallout from twitch working directly with record companies for permission to play their music. In the past it was the wild west and anything goes until you get caught so that included getting fees and tips for playing music but with the deal there will be crackdowns and changes to what is allowed on the platform and how these things are permitted. There are other alternatives like youtube dj streaming but Twitch was the safest bet outside of mixcloud with the least restrictions. So is this the end for DJs on the platform or is there a way for the two to coexist with the copywrite gods.
