Fritule are small Croatian doughnuts traditionally made during Christmas time or festive occasions. They are made from a sweet yeast dough, often enhanced with rum, lemon zest, and raisins. The dough balls are deep-fried in hot oil until golden brown, then dusted with powdered sugar. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, they taste like mini doughnuts with a hint of Mediterranean flavor.
