Lawyers Sue Former Clients Harvey & Donna Adelson : A Legal Reading
In July 2014, Harvey and Donna Adelson's former son-in-law, FSU law professor Dan Markel, was murdered in his garage by hired hitmen. Their son Charlie Adelson is currently in jail awaiting trial for his role in the murder of Dan Markel. Harvey and Donna Adelson hired a law firm, Gerstein & Baret, in the Fort Lauderdale area to help them with criminal law matters. They were then sued in September 2016 for money owed to their former lawyer. Donna Adelson and her daughter Wendi (Markel's ex-wife) have been named as co-conspirators by the State in Markel's murder but are not criminally charged. Luis Rivera, Sigfredo Garcia and Katherine Magbanua (Charlie Adelson's ex) are all currently in prison for their roles in the murder of Dan Markel.
