woodturning live edge oak (jack mack woodturning)
welcome to this weeks woodturning video.
In this woodworking video I use a woodturning lathe to turn a large chunk of freshly cut Oak into a natural edge bowl using the bark of the tree as the live rim of the bowl.
when woodturning a piece like this I like to nibble away at it until I see what shape the wood wants to be, this is what is so enjoyable about woodturning.
woodturning high quality green oak like this is a real pleasure
this bowl was finished with my home made wax paste.
