In our three-part documentary on the exhibition "Peter Miller . Dear Photography," the artist and curator Dr. Kathrin Schönegg provides insight into three works produced especially for C/O Berlin: The Leaves, 2021, Photo Booth, 2021, and Fotoguckwand (Lee Friedlander Motif), 2021.
US artist Peter Miller, who lives in Germany, wanted to be a magician as a child, which is still traceable in his works. Today, he integrates his penchant for magic primarily into the media of film and photography. In addition, he also produces installations and sculptures, makes interventions and follows on from the performance art of the 1970s. In a wide variety of forms and materials, Miller explores the history of technical media and their fundamental elements such as light and chemistry, audience and flicker effect, optics and perspective.
The exhibition was on view at C/O Berlin from Sep 11-Dec 3, 2021.

In unserem dreiteiligen Dokufilm zur Ausstellung "Peter Miller . Dear Photography" geben der Künstler und die Kuratorin Dr. Kathrin Schönegg Einblick in drei eigens für C/O Berlin produzierten Werke: Die Blätter, 2021, Photo Booth, 2021 und Fotoguckwand (Lee Friedlander Motiv), 2021.
Am Werk des in Deutschland lebenden US-amerikanischen Künstlers Peter Miller ist immer noch zu spüren, dass er als Kind Zauberer werden wollte. Seine Vorliebe für Magie integriert er heute vorwiegend in die Medien Film und Fotografie. Daneben stellt er auch Installationen und Skulpturen her, nimmt Interventionen im Raum vor und schließt an die Performancekunst der 1970er-Jahre an. In einer breiten Formen- und Materialvielfalt erforscht Miller die Geschichte der technischen Medien und deren grundlegende Elemente wie Licht und Chemie, Publikum und Flicker-Effekt, Optik und Perspektive.
Die Ausstellung war bei C/O Berlin vom 11. Sep – 3. Dez 2021 zu sehen.
