bookmarks in 13.04 via CtrlD. You can add bookmarks to the Unity launcher. Right click the Files icon to show the bookmarks. You either create a bookmark via Ctrl D or use the "locations options" icon (top right). The locations options icon looks like a star. You can make as many bookmark shortcuts as you want, but these are for folders only, not files themselves, nor applications.
