This video demonstrates how the Ilios HD Kit is making its benchmark model "Seasons" The model was created specifically for the Ilios project by a very well known 3D artist Taron. The model was created to stress the ability of the machine and make it challenging as well as fun.
Although the machine can achieve accuracy far greater than 12 microns, this model was made with a resolution of 0.1mm per layer with a 1080p DLP projector. The number of layers was 1308 and the model although can be as large as 28cm x 28 cm x 17 has the dimensions of 12cm (W) x 9cm (L) x 12cm (H) in this video. Total build time for this model was approximately 2 and a half hours.
The material used did not contain any pigment, to highlight the internal structure of the model and also make it look cool. Eventually the model was also sprayed with some silver paint just for the fun of it.
