An innovative prosthetic foot that behaves like a real human foot has been developed in Italy. SoftFoot Pro consists of five parallel chains of high-strength plastic segments linked together. The anterior segments of each chain mimic the phalanges (toe bones), while the segments behind them mimic the metatarsal bones. This allows the foot to gently rest on any surface, just like a real limb.
The foot's performance is also impressive. Weighing just 450 grams, it can support up to 100 kilograms.
