How To Set Up Ubuntu 20.04 For Gaming - Steam Proton, Lutris, Feral Gamemode & Itch.io
This is a walk-through on setting up Ubuntu 20.10 on Linux for gaming, including, setting up Steam with Proton enabled, as well as configuring Feral Gamemode to work with games from both Lutris and Steam. Instructions and Commands:
1. Install Steam -
sudo apt-add-repository multiverse
sudo apt install steam
Launch steam & let it install/download updates
Enter your steam details, and login.
2. Install Lutris -
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:lutris-team/lutris
sudo apt update
sudo apt install lutris
3. Install Gamemode for a better gaming experience -
sudo apt install gamemode
4. Enable Feral Game mode in Lutris settings
[ turn on dark mode : 3 ]
Go into system preferences and then system options,
and enable "Feral gamemode".
Save settings.
5. Browse Lutris Games on https://lutris.net/
Once you have selected a game - Click on "Install" and the Lutris app should open.
6. Installing Itch.io for indie games

Enable 'Allow_executing file as program' in properties
