Character lighting in Blender's EEVEE, broken down into 4 setups of increasing difficulty - from a single studio light to a full cinematic rig.
Thanks to Vulkan and recent advancements, rendering hyper-realistic portraits in near real time is finally plausible. This tutorial walks through each lighting level step by step, so no where you're starting from, you can pick up something useful.

What's covered:
Level 1 - Studio: One area light, no backdrop. Minimal yet effective. Good for understanding the core properties of light.
Level 2 - HDRI / Nature: Using a full panoramic HDRI to place the character in a real-world lighting environmen.
Level 3 - Double HDRI: Interior on-location feel, where the lighting is completely detached from the backdrop (via Light Path node) for more creative control.
Level 4 - Full Cinematic: HDRI for setting the mood, then studio lights on top of that.

This video is also a free chapter from our full EEVEE course, which goes deeper into render settings, glass materials, HDR lighting and more.
