Matic: The Smartest Robot Vacuum I've Met!
Matic unveiled their robot vacuum at the Consumer Electroncis Show. This is our first look at their first robot, simply named Matic. Most robot vacuums still have a lot of issues and engineers add complexity to solve thier problems. Matic takes a ground-up, much simpler approach.
It’s designed and built in California by 2 ex-Google engineers who also worked at Nest. One of the biggest problems I see with robot vacuums is poor obstacle avoidance. Most robots don’t see things like cords, shoelaces, or even people. It’s really easy for a robot to get tangled up in a cord, or shoelaces.
