Røros a Medieval scene in modern time.
This is the town of Røros, In central Norway. It was in this medieval looking town that we spent the last days of 2019 and met the first light of 2020. The town started as a mining community in the 17th century (1644) . On two occasions this town was burned by the Swedish army . First, during the Scanian war (1678 -1679) and again in 1718 during the Great Nordic War . But in spite of the burnings, it is in Røros where you can find well preserve medieval houses that dates back to the 17th and 18th century.
