One of the primary objections to colour reductionism is that it is incompatible with the facts about the structure of colour space, since certain necessary features of colours cannot be mapped to physical properties such as spectral reflectances. I examine five different ways of running this argument: (1) unique hues; (2) saturation; (3) opponency; (4) related vs unrelated colours; (5) relations of similarity between colours.
