"BRAVA GENTE" is an album that explores Italian style and contradictions, explicitly referencing Martin Scorsese's celebrated film "The Good Fellas," but with a contemporary, hip-hop twist, transcending clichés and stereotypes, and not specifically tied to any particular neighborhood or city. The team spirit between ENSI & NERONE is evident in every track, where the two artists perfectly express their synergy, both musically, giving each song the strong hip-hop feel that has always distinguished them, and thematically, touching on diverse topics—even the most sentimental and profound—thus making the project complete and mature.
The album's lead track is "King Kong VS. Godzilla," with which ENSI & NERONE announced the release of their joint album. A track that presents itself as a sort of challenge between the two artists, who rap two fiery bars each, showcasing their skills as freestyle lyricists.
"Non è cosa" follows, a song with a deliberately catchy chorus but very technical in the verses, a warning to never go against the two rappers.
The next track is "R2R," which features the album's first featuring, Salmo. A song with a pressing beat, a challenge between hip-hop champions from start to finish.
Speranza instead guest-stars on "Domino," a track created in the studio in Rome. The collaboration adds that perfect extra edge to the song, emphasizing the incisive and cutting lyrics, with which the three rappers once again demonstrate their mastery of the genre.
A change of tone is found in "Tagli come sorriso," an introspective track in which ENSI & NERONE lay themselves bare, recounting the worries and turmoil of everyday life.
A touch of femininity characterizes "Hey Mama," which features a collaboration with Shari. A soulful track, it reflects on life and what one has become, amidst regrets and feelings of guilt.
The album's diversity is perfectly evident in "Un minuto," a sophisticated track, with which ENSI & NERONE demonstrate their perfect ease with any type of sound.
"Cemento" feat. Silent Bob follows, a track that, as the title suggests, focuses on the street, the suburbs, those often hostile places that shape and strengthen one, encouraging one to fight to change the course of a destiny that often seems already written.
Then comes "Six Pack," perhaps the most impressive and consistent track of the entire album, a celebration of rap in its purest form, in which the artists reclaim their place in the urban scene, proving themselves to be champions.
Two choruses on two different beats, both crafted by Big Joe, are found in "Very Good/Back to Basic," in which ENSI & NERONE take turns in what feels like a true battle between champions.
A more clubby atmosphere is evoked by "Cuban Link," a song that reflects the generation to which the two rappers belong and celebrates old-school rap.
A worthy conclusion to "BRAVA GENTE" is "Quando nessuno guarda," an introspective outro, perfect for leaving just the right amount of melancholy that makes you want to listen to the project again from the beginning.
The production of "BRAVA GENTE" features some of the biggest names in the Italian music scene, who have crafted tailor-made productions to showcase the lyrics of ENSI & NERONE, lending the project a wide array of sound: 2ndRoof, 2P & Adma, 6ixpm, Andy The Hitmaker, Big Joe, Crookers, Don Joe, Luciennn, Salmo, Sine, Strage, and Verano.
