This is a sample video of a recursive median blob detection algorithm in action. This method of blob detection is being proposed for its ability to quickly generate relative optical flow using blobs in images.
For the image on the left, the small blue dots are the initial sample points, the colored bounding boxes with dots at their center are the resultant blobs.
The image on the right is a rudimentary attempt at motion tracking that shows the collected and tracked blobs. The dots/lines at the center of the blobs in the right image demonstrate suspected velocity, the color scales from blue to red with increasing "threat" or liklihood of colliding with the camera.
